If you want to keep a pet, you must agree to the following conditions set out in this Pet Contract. The purpose of this contract is to ensure that you understand your responsibilities as a pet owner.I have made a truthful declaration about the pet I wish to keep in my home and agree to the following:
1. To abide by all the relevant legal requirements for keeping my pet in particular the Companion Animals Act 1998 and any Local Government regulations.
2. In accordance with the Companion Animals Act 1998, I understand that Bridge Housing will only give permission to keep a cat or dog if it has been micro chipped and registered.
3. In accordance with the Companion Animals Act 1998 and Local Government regulations I understand that I am not allowed to keep any restricted or dangerous dogs.
4. I accept full responsibility for the health and welfare of my pet.
5. If I am found to have mistreated or neglected my pet, I will be denied permission to keep ANY pets.
6. I accept full responsibility for any damage to the property caused by my pet.
7. I agree to arrange for the cleaning of carpets soiled by my pet and where necessary for fumigation of the property.
8. I agree to keep my pet clean, quiet and controlled at all times so that my pet does not interfere with the reasonable peace, comfort and privacy of neighbours and visitors.
9. I agree not to breed or board any animals.
10. I agree to keep my pet free of parasites and other diseases.
11. I agree to keep my pet from straying unsupervised outside the property (other than cats).
12. I agree that if my pet defecates, I will safely and hygienically dispose of the waste.
13. I agree to pay for the steam cleaning of carpets at the end of my tenancy under Section 19(3) of the Residential Tenancies Act 2010.
14. I agree that I must get further permission from Bridge Housing if I want to keep an additional pet.
15. I understand that permission to keep a pet is granted solely by, and at Bridge Housing’s discretion.
16. I will only install a pet door with the written approval of Bridge Housing.
17. I understand that I only have approval to keep a pet in the property I am currently living in.
18. I understand and agree that Bridge Housing’s approval of my request to keep a pet is conditional on keeping to the terms listed in the Pets Contract above.
19. I understand and agree that if I fail to keep to these terms then Bridge Housing can refuse permission to keep a pet. Under these circumstances, I agree to remove the pet when directed by Bridge Housing.
20. I understand and agree that if I fail to remove the pet, Bridge Housing may take further action including the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT), if a breach of the Residential Tenancy Agreement is found.
